Shares,
Greetings,
Lists,
Ambushed my sight.
From afar, they dance
Gratefully and lively.
Colors and letters everywhere,
Filling up the virtual word
With warming messages.
Random noises
Progressively shouted.
Children ran
With sparkling eyes.
Day and night,
They blast and ignite.
New year is approaching….
Booms,
Crackles,
Whistles,
Reached my distant ears.
From afar, they disturb,
The neighborhood.
Ruckus everywhere,
filling up the village
With dissonant silence.
Blistering noise
Frequently breaks.
Hands igniting,
Suddenly recede from the sparks.
Foci shifted
To adorning dining room.
New year is near.
KABOOM!
FIZZ!
SWOOSH!
They clashed in my ears.
They conquered outdoors
And invading indoors.
Jazzy bursts everywhere,
Filling up the night sky,
With embroidery-like ornament.
Harmony raises —
Fireworks assembled and ascended.
Hands igniting
Rallied the village like wave of mobs.
Climax mid-air,
Melodic with sforzando trumpets.
Happy new year, everybody!
Silence covered the village.
My mind echoed,
'Philistine midnight',
And not my dear home.
Austere simplicity
Radiates in this home's diners....
