New Year And Poem by Jamie Dewyer

New Year And

some sad song ringing
over
over
soft bell sound
to tide me over
languish in the coil
wait
see the trappings of
our fate
you keep speaking through
my center
see right through me
i have entered

cold
the rain that turns to snow
in silence
crystalized by
frozen violence
hung in moments
unforgiven
where we weep
we often listen

still
to sparrows taking flight
the harsher moon in harsher light
cast shadows that once
reminded us
how soft
the fragile
ache of trust

another year
long spaces stretch
between our faces
where we met
the worn out places
seldom fetch
a glance from eyes
that never catch

the mask that wears a mirrors light
reflects the truth of endless night
