At twenty four oh one the New Year is begun
A few moments before resolutions were spun
Some will stun; some are just made in fun
Others are woven so tight they would give a lawyer a fright!
What one did you make? To give and not take, to be nice and not be nasty
To trust more and not less, to take time and not be hasty
To seek peace and harmony, not terror and war
To love humankind, not ignore the needy and poor
To turn the world green or go cold on this theme
To be alone player or part of a team
Before the year unfolds i can tell you for sure
That you will strive for the good things and achieve all but a few
The ones you can influence will come true
Goverments, gangsters and politicians will decide the rest
And we little people must hope for the best
So as we move forward one step at a time
Reach out your hand and take mine
For together united we shall be fine
