Nigeria Of My Dream 1 Poem by Okoemu Okoemu Okoemu

Nigeria Of My Dream 1

Where I have to leave freely
Sleep at night with no fear of attack
Hold hands with a northerner
And a southerner
in love and peace
Eat on the same table
From the same plate with christians
And Muslims
in unity and respect
Drink from the same cup with rich
and poor in Joy and love.

A Nigeria where I have to leave in northern Kaduna
As a Christian and not get slained by 'Muslims'
Where our soldiers will be treated with dignity
By our governments and accord their dues.
Where our students will go to school without ASUU or NASUU causing strike obstruction.

A Nigeria where electricity will be for all and sundry
Void of cry of generators and murmuring of plants,
Where electricity distribution companies will be most effective and efficient.

Where our roads are motorable
And our motors roadable
Where our roads will be safe
And our road safety corps responsible
Where our police will be responsible
And not being the criminals
And our soldiers defending us not destroying us.

A Nigeria where we should be more responsible than being religious void of spiritualility
Where wealth is not to oppress and intimidate
But to help and empower the poor.

A Nigeria where businesses is businesses
Not to cheat and swindle.
