Night Poem by Anisa Tara

Night

We meet only in the night
In the after hours I can hold you close
I tire myself with kisses before
Morning comes and you have to go

You feared that they'd catch us
So we kept it below a whisper
But sing now my love, with all your heart
This music is only for me to hear

I eagerly count the minutes
Nothing in real life is tended to
How could anyone think it wrong
When I'm so in love with you

And I'll sing to you as well
The songs that torture me all day
I want you to watch me cry
Until the dawn begins to break

And when the birds replace you
With their mourning coo
I'll wipe my wet eyes and hope
I'll have another dream of you
