No bodies partake of this touch.
Traversing unseen stretches
Blending as one
Syllable upon syllable
Melting in the ear, tunefully.
Arrows bolting through veins
Tightening into smiles.
The night is bathed in milk
Spilt from the sky.
What with the body
Tied down by gravity,
Dispensable.
The night floats over
The white darkness, the cool
Stillness, the calm.
With the breeze swooshing
Up the windward slope,
The gurgling stream skimming
The blanket of silence
Not once pierced
By the cicada or the like.
True bliss
Till the break of dawn.
