Nightmares Poem by Almighty One

nightmares
horses that ride in the night
without remorse
harnessing you
making you see things
you wish you never saw
crinkling your mind
crippling your heart
stopping feeling itself
and then,
harnessing you,
it drags you, and it wont let go
and your breath stops
and your lips are turning blue
and you are
slowly

y
i
n
g

but then, She comes
Light Herself strokes you
and the mare is frightened
and with Her help
you are saved
and you ride away on her back
waking
up
