Nightmares Poem by Jan Valdez

Nightmares

Nightmares (Double Acrostic)

Nothing but joint suffering and loneliness
In this dark world where happiness is a crime.
Ghosts of my sinful past are moving closer,
Hissing their frightening warnings of karma,
Torturing me as they walk into my realm,
Making me breathe the truth of my every fault,
And letting me see days of bliss and pain’s clash,
Recreating my kept moments of crying,
Emptying my soul. This heartless black magi
Slowly creeps; drenching me in its impure rain.
