Nme Poem by Erwick Brandon

Nme

I am the one you should hate - drowning in blame.
Everything is shot to hell and nothing's the same.
All I ever wanted was to be close to you.
Now I couldn't be further from you.

I should've warned you that I was toxic.
Infecting everything that's within contact.

Now negativity begins to seep through.
What do I have to do?
Are you sure you want me for you?

Tell me, how can it end...
When it never began?
I never want it to end.
It never began!

They called us a dead, ugly vision.
They told me that we wouldn't survive.
Maliciously speaking against us.
It does nothing but fuel my drive.
They say I'm a bad idea.
But I can prove that I'm a good one too!

Will they ever see,
That I'm not the ENEMY? !

I know that in my heart,
I'm like a disease.
Something much like a cancer.
Destroying your life and all that you're after.

I'm tired of living in a one-sided world.
It's brought nothing but pain and unmeasurable hurt.
Now before the curtain falls,
I can't help but wonder if,
I will ever have it all? !

Will they ever see,
That I'm not the ENEMY!

To all of the blasphemers,
I know all of your names.
I got mine, and you'll get the same!
I can forgive and forget and let some stuff go.
But I've got too many grudges to hold!

If there's one thing that I want in the end.
It's to never end up here again.
You're the only one that's real.
The only one that can make me see, the only one that can make me feel.

Will they ever see,
That I'm not the ENEMY!
