No Leisure Poem by Chanda Nsofu

No Leisure

The brutality of poverty
forces the poor
to work
day in and day out
month in and month out
year in and year out
without rest
making them dull
for
all work without play
makes one dull
And dullness leads to
lack of innovations
to overcome poverty
