I
While the weary sun was fast asleep in the distant hill
she rose up on her terrace aisle
and in the swing she did gently sway
like a swan in the way
her tender lips were lilting with a divine melody
which so pleased the night's heart
to stop the darkness to congregate fast
the gnats were mesmerized and stopped singingwhile the frogs pausedand the owls forgot their scheduled hootingas they eared to her symphony sitting around
and cared little,
although their entity was unconsciously losing ground
untimely the crescent moon descended on this torpid earth
from behind the tall pine trees
while the cool breeze was busy on combing
her unkempt hair into a palpable design
until the zealous night gentle kissed her azure eyes
and lulled her into deep sleep
after being disguised himself as a knight
he appeared so suave, gentle and bright
upon her cherubic face he did cast a spell
while closer he came to make a straight tellof his passion
that was brimming within
and gleaming upon his royal face
being provoked more for a divine grace
and to rise past her bondage and loneliness
she lay in a trance upon his arms
as he lured her up to cuddle and kiss
her eyes closed as they weren't willing to miss
to leave a promise, into her ears, he whispered
which he feigned to keep
before she lay unconscious in her sleep
'love-love-love', sung the frenzied lover
when unconscious she was what these words offered to her?
II
Owls hooted, dogs yelled
precipitously too the seas swelled
and upon the desert,
like estranged women the wolves bewailed
as if they're about to strike on the hell's patience
it's pretension which had more sensewhen he courted her with a flame of passion
for he was shrewd enough for a dubious recognition
before the night dissolved like vapours little by little
and the stars in the blue faded to twinkle
the cock intervened and untimely crowedwaking the drowsy sun to wade miles for the ground
to expose Indra's lusty intension
to bring her agony, shudder and pain
where upon the earth heaved and said-
‘my child's saved,
no more another Ahalya in her virtuous state
to shoulder enough disgrace and yet another dent
and the lustful Indra lay exposed …
