No One Has Much To Say Poem by Alfred Ramos

No One Has Much To Say

Rating: 4.5

No one has much to say
With hundreds dying every day
Next time you see them will be in a plastic bag
Identified with only a blood stained tag
You might say my protest is unpatriotic
But what can be more chaotic
Than having to kneel and pray
Every single day
No one has much to say
You'd rather just turn away
Did you have that last chance
To have that final dance
Before they boarded those silver birds
And what were their last words
Was there some tone of reality
Because they knew war and its finality
No one has much to say
Except support our troops every day
While the grave digging continues on
For those who will not see a new dawn
We have nothing to gain and everything to lose
So wave your red, white and blue if you chose
But that won't stop any bullets from hitting their mark
It'll just make one more family pray in the dark
The world is not for us to save
By putting young men and women in their grave
We have to stop living in a social camouflage
Instead of dancing around a mortar barrage
No one has anything to say
When Jack and Jill can't come out to play
