No One Really Wants This

No One Really Wants This
By Steven Grant Taylor

No one really wants to say,
that the racist party won...
that supremacists are patriots,
that it's time to buy a gun.

No one really wants to take
the POTUS at his word,
when he acts to stifle liberty,
it all sounds so absurd!

No one really wants to see,
our friends as enemies,
with unjust tarrifs that result
in poor folks on their knees

No one really wants to pay,
for someone else's wars,
as veterans battle PTSD,
while the VA close their doors

No one really wants to watch,
our government deport,
an immigrant that has not had
due process in a court

No one really wants to have
a nazi billionaire,
run rough shod in our agencies,
without a freaking care.

No one really wants to hear,
our pentagon execs
put Navy pilots in harms way
then lied! It makes no sense!

It has barely been 100 days,
and it's very plain to see,
that this administration will,
destroy democracy.
