No One's Hunting Poem by Mustafa Marconi

No One's Hunting

Who are you to judge me
Throwing stones with trembling hands
Spewing venom laced with falsehoods
Too shook to sit, too soft to stand
Who are you to mock me
For saying things you’re scared to say
You run with packs but no one’s hunting
Your just a parrot whose lost it’s way
You don’t know where I come from
You don’t know where I’ve been
You seek to find convenient answers
To questions too complexed for men to pretend
What is it that makes you hate so vehemently
It’s clear it’s genesis lies in me
Every mishap, every failure, every broken dream
Ensures disorder is the only surety
I’m a fighter not a lover
Willing to suffer before divulging names
Armed with a revolutionary spirit from our past
The blood of my heroes flows through my veins

********************

Who are you to ask me
To tone down and compromise
Spewing bullshit laced with weakness
Too scared to sit, too afraid to stand
Who are you to invite me
To abandon the cause for your substitute
The packs you ran with are all in hiding
And now the prey is hunting you
You’ve forgotten where you come from
Can’t imagine where we’ve been
You seek to find polite explanations
For problems too intricate for us to pretend
What is it that makes you submit so eagerly
It’s clear it’s destruction lies in me
Every blunder, every pitfall, every shattered dream
Ensures horrendous conditions are a surety
I’m a fighter not a lover
Ready to expire protecting names
Armed with a revolutionary spirit from our past
The blood of martyrs runs through my veins

**************************************

Who are you not to be your brother’s keeper
Who are you to not take a stand
Find a cause you are willing to die for
Pledge your life for the good of all men
Who are we to up and settle
For anything less then total equality
The time to stand is fast approaching
It’s a question of social morality
I don’t know where you come from
Can’t imagine where you’ve been
Faced with harsh and complex questions
Seeking candid answers from deep within
What is it that makes us believe so fanatically
It’s clear it’s genesis lies in deceit
Every hungry child, every broken promise, every trampled dream
Ensures that change is the only surety
Armed with a revolutionary spirit from our past
The blood of my heroes runs through my veins
I’m a fighter not a lover
Willing to die for the good of all men
