I hold my best friend
In my arms dead
No one told me
It would be this bad
New recruits
That's all we are
No one told me
We'd be outta our league this far
I lay him down
My side burning hot
No one told me
I'd be shot
They rush me quickly
To a hospital bed
No one told me
I'd end up dead

I wrote this poem in my 7th grade adv. english. We learned about war and the 1940's so our teacher let us write war poems. Although I didn't give her this one and it's not my greatest poem, I thought it would be neat to post it on here. Hope you like it! (;
