No Other Than Me.... - Poem by Zafia Izhar

It was that lucky day
When my eyes glittered and heart swayed
My eyes got an object to dream about
And found one to clear its doubt

Dreams locked up n my eyes and folded hands
I stood in front of thee to make some demands
THOU cover the sky above me with the earnest desire
And make one fall in my courtyard with whom all I can share

And…my prayer did not go in vain
I was happy enough and freed from pain
Up above me was my earnest cloud
Which was ready to shower on me………..I feel proud

I tried to feel the shower of heavenly blessings
I closed my eyes for the spiritual feelings
But….from where coming the loud noise
OH, heart-throb of mine, just now I realize

Seeing you with naked eyes, my joy knew no bound
But gapping prevail and the distance I found
Because in other courtyard you were blessed
And mine, small piece of glasses were spread

Admitting you out of my reach, my heart crossed the limit
Was cracked…..fell down….and……..split
Now I realise the source of that unpleasant sound
Which was not of my heart throb but from the ground

I collected myself and looked back
From where I started and where I lack
I found that it was no one’s fault but mine
As the PRAYER recited by me was not properly define.
