No Poem Shall There Be Poem by Robert Bartlett

No Poem Shall There Be

Rating: 4.5

My mind is so preoccupied
This decision has been made;
There will be no poem today,
No poem shall there be!

Much too much, have I to do
To compose a poetic verse for you.
Thus, this decision has been made;
There will be no poem today.

Within my yard, the birds come by
An empty feeder, where they must wonder WHY?
As then they disappointedly fly away.
Thus, there shall be no poem today.

Lacking time to gather the grains
That provide nutrition for avian brains,
This decision has now been made-
There shall not be a poem today.

Since indeed we have no marching band,
Robbie and Erin must both understand
There shall be no poem today.
We simply wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, anyway!
