No Postcode For Heaven Poem by Christopher Thomas

No Postcode For Heaven

Today would have been your birthday
So young and beautiful at twenty eight,
All your family sent cards and flowers
They won’t arrive, but they’ll never be late.

Because there is no postcode for heaven
So we arrange them in a special place,
We all gather round and talk about you
You can still bring a smile to their face.

Your little boy and his dad made it special
Two doves were released to carry their love,
Everyone watched them fly till they vanished
We pray that they found you, in heaven above.

We cried more tears for you again Claire
That’s nothing new though, we do it every day
With lumps in our throats and aching hearts
We’d just like to wish you a “Happy Birthday”

Love and miss you for always Claire
But you already know that, don’t you?
