I Didn'T Know. Poem by Christopher Thomas

I didn’t know there was a place
where hearts go to when they die,
I didn’t know that being a man
meant you are not supposed to cry.
I didn’t know how much a
loved one, needs to know you care,
I didn’t know the pain you’d feel
when one day they’re not there.
I didn’t know that heaven was
full of angels we once knew,
I didn’t know we’re meant to see them
once again one day, did you?
I didn’t know to love someone
from the bottom of your heart,
wouldn’t stop them being taken
tearing your life and soul apart.
I didn’t know that everything
in life, doesn’t turn out right,
and that hearts can still be broken
even if they’re loved with all your might.
I didn’t know as much as I thought
about how things are meant to be,
especially now there is an empty space
where once you used to be!
