No Regrets, None Poem by Shipra Agarwal

No Regrets, None

Rating: 5.0

The foundation of it all is shaking
I can hear the floor rattling
yet I don't want to dig my heels
and make it stable, nah! worse stil..
I want to run
beyond the point of no return
not stopping even once
to look back at the crumbling house.

I had made it brick by brick
and now, I've broken it down
with one swift movement of my palm.
'coz once you've flown like a bird
in the sky, blue and endless
that precious house and its beloved walls
are just a prison to your soul.
The comfortable bed keeps you awake
thinking of all the rocks you could climb
and the warm bath only makes you want to
take a dip in the cold deep ocean.

You say it's just the grass
on the other side that's green,
let me cross over and find out for myself.
I can't afford to spend my only life
singing a song of what-ifs.
I don't know where it will lead me but today
I choose to take the path of no regrets,
as always.
