No Tomorrows Poem by Flavia Richardson

No Tomorrows

There are no tomorrows
Only today and the brief moment
Only a second to breath in and out
Only two synapses connecting

There are no tomorrows
only this brief moment
only this space around my body
only two neurons holding hands

there are no tomorrows
no regrets
no second throughts
no more than here and now

there are no tomorrow
no yesterdays
no baggage to drag through the airport gates
no memories to weigh me down

there are no tomorrows … only today
