Flavia Richardson Poems

I will put the world to sleep for you tonight!

I will close the infinite covers of my books, of my files, of all the lost notebooks on my desk
...

Don't end up next to me!
My hand won't warm yours
Your dinner will chill waiting for my arrival
The bubbles in the bathtub will go stale and stick to the sides
...

Gaze
Intentful stare

Naked
...

Dragons breathing fire
Blowing
Puffing the smoke away
...

The stocks have gone down
And the Muse has left you empty
The road has killed your memories
The downfall into darkness
...

Childish eyes looking through me
As if naked
Warm hotel room filled with your presence
Your smell on the pillows
...

Give into my mind
Hold on my arms
Don't let the currents pull you
...

Mother, your amber eyes are staring
Looking at me and through me

Mother, your auburn flowing hair
...

There are no tomorrows
Only today and the brief moment
Only a second to breath in and out
Only two synapses connecting
...

I fell in love with a strange man's picture
In my experiments I have fallen for your touch
For your presence across the table
Imagining
...

My heart in my chest beating
Loud beats of angels
Wings dragging on the floor
Releasing white feathers in the room
...

12.

The words that could never
My thoughts would never
Our hands will never
Lips cracked bleeding never
...

Lifeless arms left unmoved
Golden objects gathering dust
Flattering lines aged by time
Tentacles experiencing lust
...

14.

In the misty night
I can hear your lies
Your pain and despair
...

Babe, take it seriously the world is dying
And so am I
My weak heart fading
My beats more dispersed
...

Soldiers are walking to their morning call
Ready, committed, standing ready to fall
In a mix of agony, fear and red alarms we are all
Chances, lotteries and games of life
...

17.

Gum in your hair
Pebble in your shoe
Sweat under your armpit
Naughty hair tangled in your loins
...

Flavia Richardson Biography

Who am I? This dramatis persona is like that drunk person at the bar that rambles about all the nothings of this world. The person behind is nevertheless real. She lived all over. If anything consider her that homeless person that wanders but is not lost.)

I Will Put The World To Sleep Tonight

I will put the world to sleep for you tonight!

I will close the infinite covers of my books, of my files, of all the lost notebooks on my desk

The side of my hand stained by my ink and gel pens will smudge the papers

I will shut all the doors to all the rooms in the house and let the air rest, but I will take the light with me

I will let the dogs out to run free on the green fields that are everywhere around us

I will shut the sun with my index finger and squizz the moon in my fist

I will blow the stars into a different universe leaving the sky empty and dark

I will inhale all the air currents so that everything can be still

I will put the world to sleep for you tonight!

I will kiss all the children's foreheads and clear their dreams of monsters

Chase the clingy spider webs from the corners of our rooms

Swear at all the dreams of freedom that host my mind

I will blow into the candle light and complete the last black stroke missing from my painting

I will pluck the final cord of my guitar and place it in the box

I will put the world to sleep tonight so I can finish my work

I will close my mind and my body and let my spirit leave to find a better host

Honey, I will put the world to sleep with my words!

Hypnotic lines and hopes of eternal dreams of happiness

I will put the world to sleep including myself with my sweet honey-like wine

Drop by drop filtering into my spirit

With every sip my crystal glass will shine and reflect my light away

I will kiss goodnight my heroes and wave Paine away as he goes back to heavens

I will put the world to sleep tonight

I will close all the LEDs flickering into the darkness and move the thermostat to zero

I will flush the tissues, tears and weakness hoping they will not clog the pipes

I will smash my phones on the bedroom wall and let the pieces fall helplessly on the floor

The birds will cry desperately at the noise filling the darkness

I will put the world to sleep tonight

I will release the doves that carried our wedding vows and build them a house on a field somewhere

I will let all our deeds be cut into a million pieces by our shredder and then throw the whole thing in a wheelie bin

As I sip from our china cup crossing my legs on our wood bench

I will put my own world to sleep tonight

or for eternity
