Nomalanga The Sun Goddess Poem by torchofthegods mofokeng

Nomalanga The Sun Goddess

Serene, so peaceful, content, carefree,
beautiful…oh….so beautiful. Nomalanga.
My Queen, allow me to proclaim your magnificence. My awesome queen with breath-taking radiance
The Storms are silenced by your splendor
Your melodic voice awakens the sleeping serpents
The oceans are astonished by your presence,
they sing with you the song of joy
Nomalanga, the great singer. Gifted
Nomalanga you are gifted,
gifted with true beauty and electrifying radiance
All colors of the rainbow made you
My Queen, allow me to tell my people
To make them aware that you are not, you are not just a pretty face
In the stillness of the night
During the hours of the witch
Everyone else in dreamland
Nomalanga fashions the arrival of the king
She is busy fashioning the arrival of Langa, the Sun
While the Gods are resting in heaven, Nomalanga prepares the grant arrival of the king
Without you there is no radiance, without you, there is no sun,
There is no Langa without Nomalanga, the early bird
Mother to the motherless, HOPE...
All hail Nomalanga!
