None among us sees
with clarity or even hindsight,
that which would change our very minds.
Perspective without purpose
or purpose without perspective,
lands us in stoic contemplation
or in desperation's hotel
thinking about death
without overcoming fear.
Draw us closer.
Break open the crack and let in more light.
