Normalcy Poem by Gregory Huyette

Normalcy

A seemingly simple word, this normalcy,
But what it was, isn’t now and will never be.
Walks to school, unlocked doors no more.
Plane flights, trusting nights now not as before.

Normalcy, from now on, what will it decree?
Sadly our children will surely see. As for me,
Today its meaning is of little use
Since it now bespeaks of widespread abuse.
