Not An Ordinary Stroll Poem by Judy Meibach

Not An Ordinary Stroll

I strolled through the park, stopped
a disheveled, homeless man with his shopping wagon
and asked him,
'How are you? '
He responded,
'I am fine. The man at the market just gave me a tuna fish sub.
It was very good.'
What could be good about this man's life? I asked him
'Would you like some coffee? '
His eyes beamed up as he responded
'McDonald's is just down the block,
that would be so considerate of you.'
I thought I could do better by this man and I said.
'Let's go to Starbucks.'
