Not Cultivated Poem by Emeka Mokeme

Listen,
and be warned,
you that is
full of drama
and doubts ravaging
your sense of self.
How can you be,
when you cannot
find your true
self within you.
You can never
discover outside
yourself all that
which is
not within you.
Everything you
are required to
have is inside you.
If the things
important have no
value to you,
how then can
you find the
beauty outside
of you.
Gems are buried
within you.
You are the
mine that has
never been explored.
You are like
a fertile ground
not cultivated.
All your potentials
are hidden within.
Know your value
and your beauty
and your essence.
Appreciate all of
whatever you are.
Know yourself,
your world and
your God.
