Not It Poem by Duncan Standard

Not It

If I hold you,
Would you lean against me?
If I were to let you go,
Would you just let it be?
If I didn't message,
Didn't bother to call,
Never said another thing,
Would you even care?
If I were to act like him,
Look like him,
Dress like him,
Forget that.
I'm not him,
I will never be.
I would never do that.
I would never treat you that way.
I will never.
Never.
Never.
Not in a million years.
Forget it.
I will never,
Be uncaring enough for you.
