Not Love Just Jealous Poem by Brenda Poole

Not Love Just Jealous

You were down,
So down and
Lonely.
You found me
And thought I
Was your answer,
To all of your problems.
You envied me because
I had more friends,
Because I was smart,
Because I was social.
You were accustomed
To hiding, living in a box.
You tried hard to put me
In that old box, that old
damaged box in the alley.
But you failed, it didn't work.
It is impossible to smother
The light in someone who
Is made to shine.
Life has meaning,
And you were dead
To me.
