Not Significant Poem by RIC BASTASA

Not Significant

on a jackfruit
tree hangs
a brown
jackruit

wilted by
the past drought

no one notices
it
except myself
who writes
a note about
its
insignificance

below is
is a dead
black snake

no one notices
it except
myself

don't you notice
aren't you
surprised
why i keep
noticing
these insignificant
things?

beyond this view
is the murky
sea

possibly it rained
so hard
in the mountains
