Not What You Think I Am Poem by Mark Anthony Mendoza

Not What You Think I Am

Everybody says that I must let her be
You’ll only make it hard for her, please go
Everybody says I’m no good for her
You should let her go, let her live her life, they say

It’s not that I’m taking advantage of her
Not asking for a sleep, not asking for her heart
It’s not what all of you think, and not even close
Guess you all would never understand, no I guess you all wont

But then if that’s the best thing that I can do, I would
If that the only thing left for me to do, then I would
But don’t you all talk like you know me too well
I know I have my mistakes but I’m not the type you think I am

I don’t have to tell all my intention for now
I know I can’t go back for her again
And I’m not saving our love; no I’m not saving something
All I’m here is that I want to care, to help her move on but…

But then if that’s the best thing that I can do, I’ll go
If that the only thing left for me to do, then I’ll stop
But don’t you all talk like you know me too well
I know I have my mistakes but I’m not the type you think I am

Though I can’t blame you all for what you think
All I want is for her to see that my love is true then
All I care is for her to live her life at best
No not for one night stand, no not for one last shot,
No not to make her cry….

But then if that’s the best thing that I can do, I’ll go
If that the only thing left for me to do, then I’ll stop
But don’t you all talk like you know me too well
I know I have my mistakes but I’m not the type you think I am

I’m all love
