Nothing Lasts... Poem by Pema Yonub

Nothing Lasts...

Nothing lasts…! Pema Yonub{21/08/2016}
Life, the most precious treasure of all,
Like the breath that completes the living;
That emerges like the morning fall,
Renown, but just for a while belief…
Learn to respect old and to love young.
Wealth, health, color, cast mustn't be margin.
For in life, nobody is earthly wrong,
Same entrance and exit for all that begin.
What values, nothing last forever…
Give, start sharing those possessions,
Alm to beggar and charity to poor;
Offer to god, that accumulation of greed,
Pray to thee, prove your faithful heart.
The grace and bless shall bliss we all.
Let your act cause the ripples of delight.
Understand that everything is nothingness.
But good acts are totaled without bargain.
And breath shall not accompany us eternally;
What values, nothing last forever…
Mind, everything is subjected to last call,
The beauty shall be shielded by wrinkles;
That disgusting furrows after classy care,
The preliminary sign of the final call;
A call that won't excuse no living beings,
Your looks cannot exempt from that call,
Your richness cannot pay off to that call,
Your recognition won't omit from that call,
Your power cannot overrule that call,
Lazy shall not be left behind,
Active shall not be skipped ahead.
All in all, undoubtedly all should answer.
What values, nothing lasts forever…
Our life is like a bright bloomed lotus,
Beauty attracts admirations and crow surrounds.
Bees shall sing for you in the need of your nectar.
As time passes by, when summer byes for autumn,
The freshness of petals, sepals, and leaves withers,
And where are those songs, crowds and venerations.
All disappears like the dew of the winter morning.
Thus, what values, nothing lasts forever…
In the circus of this samsaric existence,
The dreadful sorrow before the death,
True fruit of our long time karmic deeds…
We wait for that mournful final call,
Rich cannot forbid it, poor cannot restrict it;
Beauty can't impress it, ugly won't be neglected.
All that breath must experience without bail…
So, what values, nothing lasts forever…i
