Nothing Lasts Forever Poem by Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano

Nostalgia engulfs my heart whenever I suddenly miss all those folks and loved-ones
who have long ago died before me.

Innaa Lillaahi wa Innaa Ilayhi Raajiun. ‎

I must admit that these unforgettable moments I have shared with them will merely remain just precious memories.
But one thing is certain,
I shall treasure it forever.

If I could just plead to Allāh
that we won't be separated from this world,
I would surely do it.

But this is impossible
because even this world and its contents
will eventually perish;
Verily we belong to Allāh,
and verily to Him we all shall return.

They are my most precious gems
in this world that I could ever have
and I am forever grateful to Him
for having them
even just for an ample of time.

Do you know the thing that
makes me feel better?
To realize that even we will all be apart,
we all shall return to our Rabb,
the Al Wadud, the Ever-Loving.

Now,
what would I endlessly implore Him?
Is to unite us once again
in the hereafter forevermore,
just how He unites us
temporarily in this world.

May Allāh grant them forgiveness and mercy and admit them to the highest place in Jannah
