Nothing Should Be Taken For Granted Poem by Shalom Freedman

Nothing Should Be Taken For Granted

Nothing should be taken for granted
In an instant your world can be destroyed -
The great Happiness built slowly over a lifetime
Can too in a moment be taken away-

Nothing we have and nothing we are
Is ours forever surely –

Appreciate and be grateful for the good in your life-

But know too
That all your Gratitude and Goodness
Will not know to prevent
The evil day when it comes.
