Nothing There Poem by Andy Barrette

Nothing There

If I reflect upon the bitterness
a lover left with me
I find that disappointed lust
is all that I can see,
for though we found companionship
in that which we could feel,
turns out that, in between our sweet embrace
was nothing real.
