Now An Eternity Poem by Imogene Wagner

Now An Eternity

When Time has leased to us her promised 'Now'
May we take it gamely and not borrow
Unhappiness in living in the past
Or despair in reaching for tomorrow.

Let us hold our moment very near
And live it to the height and to the deep
To drain it dry of every treasured drop
And etch it in our memories to keep.

May we believe that time cannot erase
The memories we create as our love blends,
Together we shall cheat our Now and make
Eternity of her who only lends.
