Numb Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Numb

Cloaked in a shroud of pain
The darkness surrounds her
Her heart is wounded and bleeding
The blood leaves a black trail
As she slowly moves along
Each step agony that she is alive
Death would be release
Anything is better than
The unbearable anguish
The persistent ripping of her heart
The tears that fall continuously
To be numb is what she wants
Never to feel again would be bliss
The pain is too much to bear
Her bleeding heart stops beating
She curls up in the stained snow
There she will forever sleep
Numb, as she wished
