Obscure Poem by Olaoye Ayoola

Obscure

I lie
With naught but my distress
To comfort i had no mistress
I thought about the incident
Wished i could believe it was an accident
But i knew it was not
From self deceit i have curbed my thought

I sleep
Temporal death lay fingers on me
It claws and fangs dwell in my skin
Now sitting on th fence of death
Knowing the like of what it felt
My ear shut from all sound and scream
Then i had me a dream

I dream
Who knows the deads about
Some will claim and pout
Only to show knowledge and wit
This only will i add to it
Death exist not but end
From here i know not my trend

I stand
On a gently slopey hill
Like a mast on ship at sea
Beneath lies the world of men
Where also abideth demon
Afront lies empty infinity
Bringing thoughts of eternity
