The leaves in supplication in the rain showed the poet the right attitude - don't struggle against the deluge, but instead, welcome it. If we look at the same rain in our lives as a freshening of perspectives and relationships, we can also lay out new leaves, forgive the hurt and move on to a stronger relationship.
