Ode To Eddie (Letters) Poem by jeannie wischki

Ode To Eddie (Letters)

Rating: 4.0

Write to you of stranger things;
write to you about anything,
I am just inspired to write.

To write of things like life and longing,
sweet memories, sad stories,
and simply belonging.

How nothing happens by mere chance,
how life is just a rhythmic dance.

I decided to start writing,
I used to write a lot,
kept an informal journal for many years,
but stopped,

Why I stopped I do not recall,
things just got hectic, no time at all,
and I guess I just felt too busy perhaps,
but my inspirations I now realised has also lacked.

No one to challenge, my opinions and views,
nor to argue points without blowing a fuse.

To take the time to listen to strangers,
who’ve seen different things and lived different lives,
they have different opinions and can argue without fight.

The written word is a powerful thing;
it can bring tears of sadness and tears of joy.
Put a smile on your face from ear to ear,
to think that someone out there might care what you say,
spend a few minutes to brighten your day.

Once it is written it is forever given,
hard to take back the word that is written.

Not many would care of my ranting today,
not many will read what I’ve had to say,
but for those who bother to read the whole verse,
will know there is something in me quite perverse

In the depths of my soul something has been awoken,
without an actual word being spoken.

To speak volumes on paper is to hard today,
not many have time to pen anyway,
most will text a brief of the fact,
but I like to have the in-depth chat.

More than just surface, to show you my soul,
to talk of beliefs and growing old.

To write of my plans both big and small,
to write just about nothing, nothing at all.

To regale on good times and travels I’ve had,
and reminisce on a life that really ain't bad.

To remember my friends from histories past,
to talk of the dreams that just didn’t last,

To give my opinions on many a thing,
and to read your replies wearing a grin.
