Ode To Loneliness Poem by Apuna Rato

Ode To Loneliness

Loneliness, I find no reason to laugh,
Absolutely not a reason to distract the pain.
The moment I assumed I get a reason to smile,
Life twisted the story, bringing back the wounds.
Life seems Out of the frying pan to the fire.
Rejection and avoidance hurts.
Why somebody has to go through all dejection?
Why always me? Did I come just to be miserable?
Is this the purpose of my life on earth?
Tell me why there should be
Tears of loneliness in my eyes every time?
Give me just one appropriate explanation
Why pages of my life have to be written with tears?
Do you have any idea how much tears I shed for you?
Wasn't that enough for you?
Tell me why my life has to be like this?
I have lost track of joy, delight and laughter.
Do I have to be blamed for all these?
The amount of caring and feelings I possess
Isn't enough to be fitted into someone's heart?
Are you really that expensive?
When will you get enough of me
And release from your bondage?
When will you return my right to be loved?
My heart long for gentle touches of someone dear.
I, if truth be told, miss the magic words ‘I love you my dear'
