Mom, I wish you were still here with me
I feel you in all the things that I see
Your long hair tied in a tight bun
so energetic u were, so much of fun
so active, zealous and so caring
so social so loving yet so daring
You always stood up for what was right
would fight for it with all your might
simplicity personified, beauty and grace
you were so young with a mature face
with high aspirations you stood so tall
you supported us when we would fall
our exam time and you wouldn't sleep
If we were hurt, you would quietly weep
for us you had high hopes and dreams
With you all sorrows vanished as it seems
All of a sudden when you just left
of all the joys we were bereft
your pampered babies became big girls
got entangled in the worldly whirls
We stood alone in this cruel world
Into deep darkness we were hurled
days passed mom; we learnt to stand
but still confused where to land
In difficult times, in moments of joy
this feeling saddens, it does annoy
With whom to share and who does care
Nothing to say but just a prayer
wherever you are now, in whichever form
rest in peace for you our wishes are warm
Here both "your daughters" wish to say
Mom! A HAPPY HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
