Ode To New Orleans Poem by Christopher Seary

Ode To New Orleans

Earth is changing
Bring on the storm
In the gulf
Not desert storm
More clouds forming
Winds of change
Trying to reach Land again

Change of direction
New Orleans in site
Lots of old history
Will be lost on site
People crying
Mostly the poor
loss of children
Dogs and more

Why a country
so strong and rich
was unprepared for
Natures abbess

Were the people
Not worth the trouble
Were the government
Afraid to break the reserve
bubble

No more should this country
be unprepared for what may be
Life, Justice, Liberty

2005/cs
