As I lay my head down to rest,
My eyes close without any protest.
I feel myself begin to wander,
Through the dark tunnel of my mind.
I leave all of my worries behind.
Sedated in sleep,
That is so ever-lasting and deep,
I begin to finally feel peace.
In my own little world,
My thoughts and emotions swirled.
A faint light begins to be seen,
As I awake from a place so serene.
From when I was once floating on a cloud,
I’m now brought back to reality.
I’ll miss you, sleep.
