Ode To The Sky Poem by Manira Khan

Ode To The Sky

O sky! You are so unbound.
At night the stars twinkle
In your heart.
From the morning to twilight
The sun shines your heart.
Sometimes the clouds play
In your heart like the children.

You are not like the human beings
Whose hearts are filled
With the poison of jealousy and ego.
You must never grow old and pale.
You must never suffer from diseases
And ultimately die like us.

O sky! Strengthen our hearts
With your energy.
Fill our minds with your kindness.
Teach us how to be great like you
So that the birds may fly in our skies
The sun may shine our hearts
The moon may play in our gardens
And we may be friends to one another.
