At last came the Spring. The blood-blossomed Spring.
It came with the viciousness of a saint
And the asceticism of a murderer.
From across the horizon rats come in groups
With their blood-smeared faces.
Is the Spring good then, the blood-dimmed frosty Spring?
White Phosphorus gave out the last flare
And the wonderful alchemy of life is gone.
Who has filled the vast desolate fields with babbling?
The Satan and the serpent are in fierce mating.
Spring's galloping horse is now carrying a corpse.
The wind, the incorporeal blind wind, now drives the chariot.
Even in Spring leaves are falling falling falling
With too much sounds and clamors.
