Ode To Wishing Poem by Julian Takali

Ode To Wishing

I'd choose getting burnt in your palms
Over bathing with another in the indigo calm
I'd choose hell for eternity with your stare
Over heaven forever in anothers glare

I'd deplete my lungs and give you my last breath
To watch you breath while I gasp before death
I'd nail my eyelids open to ogle you through the night
Before the sirens drive by and fill me with fright

I wish you knew these things about me
I wish you could see me when you sleep
Because your window is a mist of my oxygen
From when I stare, it comes from deep within

I wish I could burn
I wish I would suffocate
I wish I could turn
My eyes from your face
