When I lost her
my heart split open
When I lost her
I thought I’d never heal
And yet you came to my aide
To defend me
as I stood at my weakest point
And as grief and longing threatened to push me down
You gave me your hand
and helped me to higher ground
And yet you stood by my side
as I licked my wounds
as I wept
as I cried
About the loss
the grief of saying goodbye
That her leaving had brought upon me
And now as I watch you weep
weep over my dead body
It pains me to relies
that you are now retracing my steps of depression
And yet I cannot step up to comfort you
as you would have done for me
It pains me to leave you to suffer
when I know that you of all people
deserver it not.
