Of Kingdoms And Empires Poem by Chris Sturdevant

Of Kingdoms And Empires

Rating: 5.0

</></>Standing there gazing serenely
Waves listed on the bow
She was bereft, having occupied his empire
A domain astute

Solid and sweet she was, bold and determined
Parcels of time past and present
Bless-ed visions and images
Scrambling torridly by

Time and time again she strained herself
upon him, deep inside his vessel
His kingdom flush with madness
Immersed; dizzy with delirium
Vertigo
Acquiescing existence

Intensely she entered his castle
Vehemently she was to exit
A void so monstrous
The empire had fallen
Aching of remembrance
Of paradise revisited
