Of Love And Other Drugs Poem by Sneha Murali

Of Love And Other Drugs

And it all did start, with a flame in my heart...
and a warmth that spread part by part.
I love you strong, like the stormy wind singing nature's song.
I love you like the passing clouds, kissing the moon's surface...
And it all did start, with a fire in my soul...
that found its way out and burned me whole,
burnt me with the sweet hot happiness of love that you gave....
which I'll save until my ashes travel
with the cold winter breeze...
Till death do us apart, or shall death be a part,
a witness to our bond, an unbreakable sacramental chain.
Do we dance or sing? In celebration of our love,
more love we bring in.
Until our hearts are full, love will never go,
cos it will always overflow...leaving room for more!

Your constant care, like the summer breeze
creeps up around me, warm and ever-strong.
Your committed smile sets my heart ablaze
with the fire of travelling happiness
that shoots forth rays of sunshine
for miles and miles of my love's length.
Call me stupid, why else would your normal smile
seem like a whole new dimension to another universe?
Tell me how your ordinary eyes can retain my attention
for the longest possible time that anything else could ever?
Maybe I'm stupid. Or maybe you are everything I would ever need,
the perfect question that no one dare answer,
the beat that sets things in rhythmic harmony.
You are my all.
You are the missing puzzle piece,
the perfect pillow on which I can rest my sorrows.
